Re: Audio pop when pressing play
Start with a fresh Audacity and Generate > Silence for any duration. Does that pop when you play and stop? Import or open a short sound track that does this and apply Normalize, but only select [X] Remove DC. Does the track pop? If you get noises for both of those tests than yes, something in your s...

Re: Undo function is not undoing correctly
You said two things that caught my attention. "It's been working for a long time and suddenly this trouble." On the video forums we silently attach "...when I filled up my hard drive." If you get tired of blank looks from nine time zones, pull the new memory out (carefully) or su...

Re: Behringer UCA202 and Pioneer mixer issue
Windows often assumes that any USB audio input is a USB microphone, and so boosts the recording volume massively. While I don't doubt it does that, I wonder about why. Let me read this back to you. USB microphones almost universally deliver a slightly soft Line Level signal to the computer. It's th...

Re: Lost audio files
AUP Project Manger files are straight text. You opened them in NotePad or TextEdit and they were empty? This is what a simple one looks like. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/aup1.jpg You captured the show in segments and you did no editing to each segment? Straight Perform and Save? http://manual.aud...

Re: Electric guitar sounds staticy and over driven through U
Let's start there. We assume your guitar does not speak USB out of the shrink-wrap, so what is the USB Adapter and what kinds of connections does it have? Pretend I want to buy one.use a USB cable to hook into my desktop.

Re: Sound delay
We produced an Overdubbing tutorial where I tested three different hardware methods of "Perfect Overdubbing," Overdubbing where you can listen to yourself and get a good recording. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_multi_track_overdubs.html All three of them use separ...

Re: Record a Video Conference
You are missing the point. I think we have the point exactly. Audacity will not record video, so you will be in another application for that. Conferencing systems have critical audio management requirements and those designs make it super hard to record unless recording, capture or monitoring is bu...

Re: Sound delay
not a Latency issue, It is a latency issue. Computers have two. Overdubbing latency is where the new track is carefully adjusted to overlay the old one and computer machine latency where the sound you put in comes back out "one computer late." It's that last one that makes overdubbing a r...
