Note:
LF Rolloff should be near the top of the list. It doesn't have to be the very first thing.

Re: Premature clipping when recording
You could have something as simple as plugging a high-level, stereo sound signal into a low-level, mono, Mic-In on the sound card. The Mic-In electronics are overwhelmed and clip the signal way before the rest of the sound card, the computer or Audacity can get to it. This is a common problem on Win...

Re: Possible to send and receive over USB mixer?
Try the USB/2-TR to Main Mix button. It sounds right, but I can't really tell what it does even with the instruction book download.

Re: Computer mic will not record through program
checked that under the control panel. So you got the Audio Control Panel meters to jump when you yelled in to or scratched the microphone? Some internal microphones identify themselves as both stereo and mono. Some don't. Try Mono. Right-click on the red recording sound meters > Start Monitoring. T...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
Be encouraged, we're picking at details now. It's starting to sound very good What he said. I'm in favor of using the LF Rolloff for Speech at the top because that handily gets rid of many of the problems ahead of further processing. Noise Removal, for example has less work to do and more likely to...

Re: Odd Popping Sound from Mic That I'm Trying to Mitigate
It just seems to happen. Isn't that the best? I was able to recreate a famous sound problem here for about three days. Then it went away never to return, and I didn't do anything different. That sounds like AC interference. The only oddity is that it's periodic. It's usually constant like my neighb...

Re: noise removal
If the "something" goal is to understand somebody talking, then some of the tools may be able to help — a little. If the goal is a clean theatrical or musical performance, you're probably going to need a reshoot after you fix the problems.

Re: noise removal
You have two out of four killer problems. We can't do anything at all about the music, and White Noise or Hiss usually flummoxes the Noise Removal profile step. Noise Removal works by generating filters according to the sample sound you selected in the profile step. White Noise has sound hidden insi...

Re: Possible to send and receive over USB mixer?
That only works if your mixer has the ability to live mix the "USB Monitor Feed" into the show. Most mixers won't do that because the object is to hear the base or rhythm playback in your headphones along with your live performance without the mix becoming part of the show. People do that ...
