Microsoft WAV files have two natural limits, one at 2GB and the other at 4GB.
Big shows are a little rough to deal with.

Do you still have the Audacity Project with the whole show? Did you save the Project? I would probably avoid turning the computer off until we solve this.

Re: Recording DJM 2000/ HP Laptop
Sound generally comes out of the headphone socket. Some computers can be switched to do different jobs, but that's not normal.

If you need to get stereo connection into your computer and there is no easy way to do it, I found a Behringer UCA202 works. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo.jpg That's also one of the hardware devices we certified to do perfect sound-on-sound overdubbing should you want to ...

Re: White noise from mic
All microphone systems have noise. It's your job to make the performance so much louder than the noise that nobody can hear it. The sample you sent has normal noise and no performance volume. Make the Audacity sound meters very much bigger by clicking on the right-hand edge and pull sideways. Watchi...

Press 2-TR to Phones and make sure Audacity is set up for overdubbing... http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_multi_track_overdubs.html ... and that Audacity is set to play to your USB Xenix, not the built-in speakers or headphones. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/toolbars_ov...

I did look it up multiple times, but interpreted the result wrong. You spelt it wrong.
I paint with verbs but don't always get the colours right.

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
Why are you ducking? Part of that discussion was the idea that the "defects" should not be removed. They're part of the natural voice and many people speak like that. Further, anything you do to the presentation has to be done every time. Post production editing as a fuzzy rule takes long...

Re: how to record using numark mixtrack pro2
There's just the smallest chance that wall power problems might cause hum in your mixes, but you should try it. What's probably not going to work is connecting the mixer to your laptop. Almost no laptops now have a Stereo Line-In. You can't use Mic-In. I use a Behringer UCA202 as an interface. It's ...

Re: Best Operating system for #= Hour recording
Your choices are press Stop and then Shift-R to start it up again just where you left off, or "P" (record pause) and then "P" again to resume. We can't help you with remembering to do it. Audacity Timer Record only has one event. You might consider setting a label during the reco...
