Re: how to convert cassettes using Audacity
You can get iTunes for Windows and that will mount the iPod and has tools to convert sound to the formats the iPod will recognize. The iPod will play WAV, and MP3, but the preferred format is AAC. All are available as drag and click conversions in iTunes. The worst problem is going to be getting the...

Re: Проблемы с импортом / Problems with import
It is sometimes good to know what kind of file you have and Windows is not good about telling you. You can make Windows show you the filename extension. Hidden File Extensions - Windows -- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect) -- Ap...

Re: Проблемы с импортом / Problems with import
Lame is used to make an MP3. That's all it does. FFMpeg is used to both Import and Export advanced sound formats like AC3 and M4A. I see you use the word "Save." Audacity will not save a sound file. Audacity only saves Projects. You can make a sound file by using File > Export or one of th...

I posted a question about that to them.In my opinion, A-weighting isn't probable neither for the signal (because it forces you to set a high compression ratio) nor for the noise (because it allows too much that is audible).

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
@Robert ACX was very specific they were using A Weighing for the show noise measurement. This makes sense because inaudible transients and sub audible mains hum will needlessly kill many shows if you measure noise C or Z. Further, if you have a sound system that will reproduce 50Hz, you are a celebr...

Yo, Ian. When you want us to listen to clips and selections, you're going to need to clearly point us to the specific clip you want us to hear. "The latest one" doesn't work when there is a latest one every fifteen minutes across ten time zones. We had settled on a reasonably stable proces...

Audacity may not recognize all modern sound formats. So you may have a track that plays perfectly anywhere on earth except Audacity. You can add the FFMpeg software to Audacity and it will recognize many more different types of sound files.

into other sections of the song where it is required. Maybe not into other portions of the song, but you can copy and paste segments of the song into new tracks at the right places. If selected, they will play right along with the rest of the song. I'm foggy on how that would work if you tried to c...
