Re: Do I have full version of audacity?

Mine doesn't either. Press your Delete key. Using the menu system is good for learning, but you should advance quickly to keyboard shortcuts. Someone even moderately good with the keys can edit a show and be on the way out for a coffee/tea while you're still trying to find all the menus. Help > Abou...

Re: How Do I Get The Robot Sound Effect?

You might try Effect > Vocoder. Part of the effect requires a second voice or sound.

Re: Blank spots recording Skype

Given enough time I can find the controlled recordings I did with two computers where the two ends were able to interrupt each other. I did not hear switching or ducking. Perhaps he system knows when it's unstable which leads me to... I still think this is a feedback problem. The recording was made ...

Most of this kind of stuff you see in movies or on TV is pure science fiction.
Or pure Hollywood...

Re: Can't save projects

Sometimes a new Audacity install will try to save Projects in the same directory as the program itself. It's no surprise that Windows may take exception to that. Make sure your target for saving has the right permissions. This is even more likely because you as administrator seem to work just fine. ...

in a medium that isn't really like radio at all But it can be. To do an audiobook you have to be terrific at telling stories around the campfire, but to do a podcast, you have to know how to do sound production, critical timing and radio structure. That sounds more like your speed. What was your ol...

Re: Removing breath noises ... is there a plug in?

MP3 is a delivery format. It's an end-of-the-line product, not a step in the middle. WAV makes a dandy archival format for stuff you may want to edit again someday. If you need to continue an edit or complex production later, then you can Save an Audacity Project. That will preserve all your layers ...

Re: Need help recreating sound in music!

You don't have to do it all on one timeline, either. You can copy the work onto a second timeline under the first and do all the cross-fading and beat matching to each track independently.

Tracks > Add New

Audacity will push everything into one track when you Export.

Did you get rejected by ACX? Did they say why? Typically, it's not because of performance issues unless you're really terrible. Do you have Wet Mouth Noises, too? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=79278 People who record for a while in a quiet room discover all sorts of problems...

Re: Odd Issue Appearing - Rec Level

I'm going to get in trouble because I'm not a Windows elf, but Windows has the ability to change the volume of USB sound devices. You might look in Windows Control Panels or click on the speaker icon lower right.

We found the Behringer equipment to be very satisfactory.
