Re: Mic in to line in on a Windows 7 laptop
I did waffle on the word "desirable," but I doubt you would use the phrase "My Kit" if you didn't much like what you were doing, and if you were producing undesirable garbage, why on earth would you want Audacity to capture it?

Re: HELP! -- Pitch Changes! - Urgent
You blew....... Oh. You sung a wrong note at the end. Select the note and Effect > Change Speed. If you were only a tiny bit off, that should work OK. If you were singing to an orchestra or band, that's not going to work because that will change the band, too. There's no way to split you from the ba...

Re: Discontinuities / Shifts in Audio
You may have two problems, lucky you. A straight discontinuity, tiny straight, flat line with no up or down motion usually means the data from your performance was interrupted either through defect or the machine can't keep up the Scarlett bitstream. A straight vertical offset, either up or down, ca...

Re: 2.0.5 Windows 8.1 wont monitor, stalls, no audio
Why did the Win7 machine crash? In the grand scheme of things, Win7 worked pretty well. Even I liked it. What are you recording? Right-click on the red recording meters > Start Monitoring. That will force the meters to wake up and measure your sound. If they refuse to bounce, then there is no sound....

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
Comb effects indicate microphone proximity to a hard surface or just a little of the room left in the recording. The room is required to suppress the environment/neighborhood, so maybe you shouldn't have taken all the winter coats out of the studio. Again, we never saw what you did to the floor. You...

Said the non-Brit.Kit? What's a kit?
A collection of instruments and electronic equipment used to make desirable music.
Although it would be nice to know what you're trying to plug into your computer. I do it with the 1/4" headphone out of my Yamaha keyboard. I have an adapter cable.

We have general pictures of your studio. Did you put anything on the floor?

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
I thought it was a little lower than that (around 450 'ish but I didn't check) and I note that Robert's Eq curve has a dip at around 500, but we're all picking up a bit of resonance in the low-mid range. It's possible when you start rolling in money you can get more soundproofing panels and you won...
