Re: Export dialog format unclickable
Some of the tools and services get magic if the show is in Pause instead of Stop. Will Audacity let you save a Project? That's the protection if you need to restart your computer. You won't lose your show. When was the last time you restarted? I used to regularly get a supervisor out of trouble by r...

Re: Having problems recording from streamed audio
Something that should be very simple and straightforward. That would be no. It's not. This is an undocumented feature of some computers, but not all. Macs can't do this at all without additional software and many high-end Windows laptops lock you out as well. The only thing saving you in this case ...

UNDO cancels the view???
Apply a filter, for example Equalization. Change the view to Waveform dB. Edit > Undo Equalization. The waveform view also reverts.
I thought it was just 2.0.3, but 2.0.5 does it, too.

Re: Improving quality of recorded file
If you use reduction values too high, the voice can get tinkly and faerie-like. The Profile step is very important in this process. 20 is still generally in the right range. People try to make a studo performance out of trash by going for 30 and up. It generally doesn't work. There was a game commen...

Re: Improving quality of recorded file
This time something just went terribly wrong. This time you were recording the built-in microphone on the laptop instead of the mixer. Of course, that's never happened to me. You can help a little more by carefully selecting the sound between words or at a natural pause in the speech and use that f...

Re: Help Request: 16/48 to cdr
Correct me, but many burners will handle 48000/16/Stereo without any conversion.

Re: Improving quality of recorded file
You almost always need to get the microphone close to the speaker.

Re: Improving quality of recorded file
This audio is just a person speaking at a meeting. With the recorder at the back of the room. I'm pretty sure it's hopeless. We can't do anything constructive with echoes. #1. The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording (reliable, time-tested ways to kill your show) -- 1. Echoes and room reverberation (Do...

Re: How to make several short clips into one long mp3?
Noiseless Filler is easy. Generate > Silence. It's a little rough following that, probably because you didn't go for the goal. Once we get the goal, I'm pretty sure any video editor can handle all this before lunch. Insert Still: Duration: Insert Sound Track: Shift to location: You don't need to wor...

Re: Problem using Zoom H4n as Audio interface
With the Zoom off, connect a working, live USB cable. Turn the Zoom on and it will ask you "Audio I/O" and "Connect to PC" (which will connect to a Mac). At least that's now a Zoom H4 works.
