Re: How can I record using 2 mics?
You totally can...but. There's a split between one and two microphones. Many computers come with one microphone or the ability to manage one. Open your laptop, start Skype and go. Creating a podcast with one of these is dead simple with Audacity or any other audio program. Increase the quality of yo...

Re: Trying to fix corrupt IMA WAV ADPCM .wav file
The "clean" one is like that, too. The question is whether the clean one and the failed one are of the same show. If they are, then that's very serious. It means the second show doesn't exist. The shows are "run and gun" captures of interviews. I've done that. The only requiremen...

Re: Samson C01U commentary becomes desynced slowly over time
When you were using the analog headset, the digital clock was generated by the computer which, we assume was also generating everything else. The Samson microphone generates digital sound independent of the computer, and since all clock systems have manufacturer's tolerances, they drift. If the drif...

Lose you?
Is your computer physically noisy? That's important when you try to record your voice in the average living room or office.

Re: Meters
Clip Warning in 2.0.5 on a Mac doesn't self reset. I tried it. That means it will only warn of the first one since I'm not going to fiddle with Audacity in the middle of an important performance.

Re: Noise from headphone cable
You should continue to self-monitor. It contributes to an even, level, clean performance similar to the way sidetone on a telephone does. Many people make wireless headphones. http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=wireless+headphones&tag=googhydr-20&index=electronics&hvadid=72159...

Is there any provision to have the meter rest at full scale when you turn it off?

Re: Meters
Oh. A BBC-PPM without the 1 thru 7 and the odd range change. Do they still do that? Where the bottom of the meter is a different range than the top even though 1 through 7 is evenly spaced? Without reading through the whole thing, does that give you fading overload flashers? It's still true that all...

Re: Trying to fix corrupt IMA WAV ADPCM .wav file
Bad news at record-breaking speeds. That's us. It worked. There are two attached digital dumps. One from the good file and one from the bad. It's no mystery which is which. One has an orderly header and one doesn't. That's it. I'm not a bit jockey. I have no idea what that means, other than one is a...
