Re: Unbalanced input signal
Am I missing something? It would seem so, wouldn't it? You can hear all the little question marks dancing cartoon-like over our heads. Just for giggles: Go > Utilities >Audio MIDI Setup Select your USB device from the listing on the left. USB Something Something? You should have a control panel sim...

Re: Echo/reverb-like sound.
In my opinion most of the improvement was from getting rid of "silent noise" (frying) or Room Tone, not actually affecting the echoes, although some of that happened, too. When you listen to the proof clip I posted, the silent portion between the words suddenly goes quiet. I think that's w...

Re: Mystery of the tiny waveform and intermittent 1000 hz to
You may find though that the whine and mic / computer noise will also increase substantially. Perfect true, but if the boost happens in the physical preamp ahead of the interference, your problems may go away. A note on the Shure X2U. I did the product testing and overdubbing certification and I ca...

Re: Echo/reverb-like sound.
It's pretty dramatic if you split the clip in half and only process the second half.

Re: Echo/reverb-like sound.
OK. I think I got a passable dialog. Import the clip you sent me into Audacity. Once you do this the first time, the settings should follow you when you apply them to much larger clips (assuming you don't change the room). Select the sound that Audacity is going to use as the Profile or echo sample....

Re: Mystery of the tiny waveform and intermittent 1000 hz to
Your guitar amplifier plug-adapter jams two of the three microphone pins together (one and three) and leaves your voice on one pin (pin 2). What this directly kills is your ability to drag the microphone cable across the parking lot and perform your gig fifty feet from the amplifier. Since most club...

Re: Mystery of the tiny waveform and intermittent 1000 hz to
I wonder about that tone, though. That's not normal. There are "normal" problems that microphones and soundcards have and that isn't one of them. I have plugged similar microphones into soundcards very much like you did with the adapters in the top of this thread and mine worked fine after...

Re: Random, unintentional, subtle changes in pitch
If you have any legacy software, Mavericks was the death note. "...Adobe Illustrator is no longer supported...." Sometimes IT will not care what you do as long as you don't connect to the network. At one time we had special logins so guests could log into their home computers to exchange d...

Re: Voice to midi
I think maybe this isn't what you actually want. The "conversion" is the result of combining a voice with a musical instrument to produce a talking guitar, for one popular example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR_Bjf-a5rs&feature=kp So rather than producing a tone or combination of t...
