Re: Time Shift Tool

Select one of the other tools in the "Tools" toolbar. The I-Bar tool is the normal cursor.

Re: Audio fades after 3 seconds while recording again.

Catalina doesn't have the ambient noise reduction in the sound settings.
Does your machine have a built-in microphone? That where it appears on mine.

Re: Audio fades after 3 seconds while recording again.

But now unfortunately being on Catalina going back to 2.0.5 again is not an option.
No, but reversing the Catalina update is.

The update to Catalina was not universally popular. If it stopped your workflow, then it's not popular with you, either.

Re: editing a loud audio recording

Select the track. Effect > Low Pass Filter. The settings are in that screen capture a couple of posts back. It's not a big mystery. I found a couple of undistorted words and analyzed them to death. That low pass filter dumps all the tones that can't possibly be performer's voice—they must be trash. ...

Re: Microphone 3.5 mm jack with Windows 10

Don't fall in love with doing production in MP3. MP3 files always produce some sound damage and you can't stop it. When you make a WAV from an MP3, what you're really doing is making a perfect quality WAV file of the MP3 damage. When you make an MP3 from an MP3, the damage gets worse. Make the MP3 w...

Re: Recording breaks down and produces weird clicks

With respect to the illustration where the blue waves are sliced off at 50%. The next time you record it's not sliced off at 50%? Are the waves ever sliced off lower than 50%?

Re: Distortion, pops, etc

I could not tell you if every one of them occurred at the same moment on each playback. Some tests would be very good to know. You have many of the symptoms of playback damage, not record damage. If the damage keeps moving, it's probably not a part of the show. I just listened to what I recorded ye...

Re: Distortion, pops, etc

When you play the damaged show, does the same damage occur at the same show time each pass?

Does it only happen when you export a WAV for broadcast? Like when you have the music and voice files stacked up in Audacity, it's fine? If that's not how you edit, describe how you construct the show.

Re: Recording breaks down and produces weird clicks

When you record the work the blue waves are much taller than they are later, after you Export the WAV files, open them, and play them back? No effects, filters, or corrections?

Is the green USB light on the UCA202 on?

Has it ever worked?
