Re: Samson C01u and Yamaha audiogram 3

There is one other possibility that will clear itself when you post a sample of the noise. Is it "frying mosquitoes" rather than rain in the trees hiss? That's very different. That's coming from the computer, not the microphone.

There's some other problem with it. I didn't take notes when it went by. Only two microphones? Something like that.

Re: Which audio mixer to use?

Yes. I have it on another computer. That's for USB microphones. You still have the individual drift problem and you have the problem of each microphone needs to be a computer home run. USB microphones won't go through a USB hub along with anything else.

Searching.

Re: Which audio mixer to use?

Thanks for your help and patience. Lol. It's a guy thing. Nobody is willing to admit that there isn't a graceful, functional way to do this. I'm doing the design tennis match with "flynwill" who is an engineer. I suspect everybody who seriously thinks about this hits the same bad Return o...

Re: 3.5mm headset to XLR adaptors please

to create a truly balanced signal is going to either need active components or a transformer. I went to a learned lecture once which refuted that. Almost certainly if you needed a floating sound generator you'll be pricing transformers — either to generate the signal or to manage the DC, but to get...

Re: 3.5mm headset to XLR adaptors please

I wonder what you would need to do this job for real. Say one of the requirements is the mixer has to supply 48v on pins 2 and 3. Why would you even need the zener? Just keep increasing the size of the load resistor so the "plate current" remains the same. How would you create a balanced s...

Re: Which audio mixer to use?

I don't have a budget as such as I just wanted to research a little into it to see how much it would cost. Or an unexpected layer, if it can be done at all. Our old "you can't get there from here" job was the people who wanted to record gameplay from Schenectady, Pittsburg, Miami and Los ...

Re: Samson C01u and Yamaha audiogram 3

Was there a software package or driver software that you can get for that microphone? Many live performances need a volume adjustment somewhere and USB microphones, unless you got really lucky, don't have any. As above, you can't plug USB microphones into anything but a computer, but there's a possi...
