Re: Sony ECM-MS907 Mic Help
Oh it gets better. It's a stereo microphone. Mid/Side (MS) capsules for natural stereo panorama; the Mid capsule picks up monophonic sound while the Side capsule picks up left/right difference sound; subtracting and adding the two capsule signals yield separate Left and Right channels - also permit ...

Re: Sony ECM-MS907 Mic Help
Did you put a fresh battery in it? It takes an AA battery and the performance of the microphone will go into the mud with a weak battery and it will stop dead with the battery does. That frying mosquitoes noise is coming from the soundcard. Your job is to get the microphone a lot louder than that. W...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
It's difficult to do. I've owned many stand-alone fans and almost without exception "LOW" wasn't low enough. We need one click to the left of LOW called "Ceiling Fan." I suspect the marketing people will raise their hands and say since people think the noise is keeping them cool,...

Re: When I click to monitor input level, only input on left?
If that really bothers you, you can record a stereo show with the microphone on the left. Use the drop-down menus from the left of the track and Split Stereo to Mono. [x] Delete the silent track. Duplicate the remaining active track, Edit > Duplicate and then using the left-hand drop-down menus agai...

Re: fixing distorted speech
Too close to the microphone usually causes whumping, thumping and pounding in the sound. A bad microphone or MicPre can cause "Essing" where each "S" sound crashes or drills holes in your ears.
So you need a de-esser.

And this is confirmed by responses from the Sweetwater people. No commercial product. This only works if you can solder. Actually, there was one poster who wanted this bad enough that he got screw-terminals from Radio Shack to work. No soldering required. I couldn't find his formula....

Re: Low Sound after recording...
Try not to double post. Sometimes it takes a little while to get to you. The AUP file is an Audacity housekeeping file. It's not sound. I listened to the MP3. I'm betting the sound was very low well before you played it back. When you record in Audacity, both the blue waves and the red recording met...
