Re: Strange problems recording with 3 USB Snowball microphon
I'm stunned you got three microphones to work at all. Can I have your autograph? USB is a time-shared system. It has to constantly reverse direction and manage itself. Nobody will notice if a keyboard or a mouse or a pallet stutters a little bit and USB disk drives can generally take all the time th...

Re: Vinyl conversion using Audacity
Is there any way you can talk your vinyl player into saving a WAV file rather than an MP3? MP3 files work by creating sound damage that you hopefully can't hear. But it's there and it gets in the way of further cleaning and production. Less bad is tell the system to create a Really High Quality MP3....

You know the next complaint is how to do that now that the show has already been mixed with other, correct work. Koz

Re: can not make line in workon PC Laptop running Win 7 ????
mic line in There is no "Mic Line-In" Some very few computers try to switch between Microphone and Stereo Line-In using software and it's almost always terrible quality. Most computers have a pink Mic-In and a green or black Headphone connection. That's what you need for Skype or other co...

Re: Need help identifying type of noise
This is precisely my objection to this mixer. Your Phantom Power Inserter is designed to supply proper 48 volt phantom power to the microphone and naturally assumes there's nothing on the mixer side. There is something on the mixer side, but it's not 48 and could damage the phantom power inserter. A...

Re: Why do the mp3's I make through audacity have muffled so
My guess is that your recordings are too "hot" (the level is too high) Nope. Depending on the connection method, the performer has two out-of-phase sound channels. This will create very serious sound damage depending on the tricks being played in the playback or speaker system. The diaphr...

Re: Auphonic advice? Added hum/sibilance
Auphonic is a complete mystery, but you might try the Audacity Effect > Compressor or a third party effect Chris's Compressor. http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-for-audacity/ Both will change the sound levels. Chris is a bit more adaptive. It sounds more like a broadca...

Re: Need help identifying type of noise
Wait. Are we still talking about the Takstar SM-8B? That's an XLR microphone and will plug into almost any larger mixer. If you use the larger Behringer or the Peavey, you won't need the extra phantom power supply. They both supply phantom power directly.

this was just a small clip-on microphone which needed no power supply of its own Is it a "computer microphone?" Part numbers are good. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/computerAnalogMicrophone.jpg It takes no batteries and plugs right into the soundcard? You can't plug one of them into ...
