Re: Strange problems recording with 3 USB Snowball microphon
I just now got to the sound clip — or I guess it's the actual show. 50:00 minutes. Yes, that's totally what speed differences sound like. Because y'all are grouped around the microphones, your neighbor's microphone is picking up a little bit of your voice. As long as all the microphones are close to...

Soundflower Install
How do I download and install Soundflower? The wiki on using Soundflower starts after the install. How do I use the SHA1 Checksum from this page: https://code.google.com/p/soundflower/downloads/detail?name=Soundflower-1.6.6b.dmg&can=2&q= What does the QR code do and how do I use it? OS-X 10....

Add a tab to the instruction book
Somewhere in that summary, add a tab that points to external software. All Steve's stuff, the links to SoundFlower, Lame, FFMpeg, etc. This should not be a "you just have to know" exercise. Where is the tab for downloading and installing Audacity? That's actually an Easter Egg on the forum...

Re: Why do the mp3's I make through audacity have muffled so
Here it is:

When you use this thing, you have to know that all the stress of the rest of the cable and adapter is resting on that one little 1/8" plug, so put a book on it or stabilize it somehow so it doesn't move around.

Re: Why do the mp3's I make through audacity have muffled so
They said how they did it. An XLR to 1/8" TRS adapter connected to the Mic-In of the computer. That's not valid. If you have a computer that pays attention to both the tip and the ring of the show, it will result in an oddly damaged stereo track. As somewhere up the thread, you can fix that bef...

Re: Strange problems recording with 3 USB Snowball microphon
We've gotten the same results from the mics being several feet apart and when people are talking very quietly. Sorry. My bad. The crosstalk and delay thing is what's going to happen to you after you cure the static and breakup problem. The fact that you're using three Snowballs may mean you won't g...

Re: Recording audio from mixer to laptop
I expect that to happen, yes. There's no shortage of people who want us to guarantee perfect shows if they buy certain hardware and connect it a certain way. Your computer still has to be able to handle the stress of audio recording and playback — at the same time. The hard drive still has to be roo...

Re: Recording audio from mixer to laptop
That's not the only one which will do this. But I think it's the cheapest one that will do good quality audio.
We have a listing of other devices which will do similar or the same jobs and this is me looking for it.

Re: Recording audio from mixer to laptop
I have had very good luck with the Behringer UCA-202. I own two. You can put any mixer on the right and any computer on the left. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo.jpg The device appears as a simple audio device in your computer device settings and Audacity. It will not do su...
