Re: Strange problems recording with 3 USB Snowball microphon

That is going to put you at the mercy of the echoes and reverb in the room since you can't get close to the microphone without spilling the coffee of the person next to you. Maybe you could work that into the show. You may hate it, but I guarantee all those multiple USB microphone problems will vani...

Re: Problems Recording from a Cell Phone...

There is a desperation method. The Olympus TP-7 and TP-8 are designed to plug into your laptop Mic-In (TP-7 with an adapter) and jam in your ear. Listen to the cellphone with that ear and don't move around very much. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/olympus_TP7Blowup.jpg Oh, beans. I though I save...

Re: NoiseRemoval.cpp

[adjusting spectacles to distant vistas] That doesn't mean it shouldn't be worked on. It might take between now and then to get corrections. Noise Removal would be pure gold if it worked better than it does now. Also see: Auto Profile. Noise Removal is ripe for improvements including changing the na...

Re: Problems Recording from a Cell Phone...

The normal Windows laptop has two sound connections, headphones and microphone. They're designed for Skype or other conferencing services. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound.jpg http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCHeadset.jpg Not recording from a Sound Device. http://www.kozco...

Re: Compression Gain Reduction

I found Chris's Compressor is a good simulation of the US Broadcast Compressor. http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-compressor-plugin-for-audacity/ Change the first number, Compression, from the default 0.5 to the new 0.77 and the compressed sound appears remarkably like the local KPCC br...

Re: Problems Recording from a Cell Phone...

from I'm doing this for a specific project Specific projects can be illegal, immoral or fattening. (Alexander Woollcott) OK, you got your connector in the cellphone, but how did you get it into the computer? The "speaker" connection in a cellphone is line-level and you shouldn't plug it i...

Re: Add a tab to the instruction book

By tab do you mean a div? There are no tabs in the released manual and it would be hackage to add them. OK, Little Green Squares. My goal is One Stop Shopping. The manual is getting tantalizingly close. I stopped going to my little notes, bookmarks, post-its and hasty scratches on matchbook covers ...

Re: roland tr8 drum machine set up and recording advice

That's understandable. the TR-8 integrates entirely into your computer-based rig via USB, transferring both audio and MIDI via a single cable. You can even run analog audio out of the external outputs as you send audio over USB. That sounds like you're supposed to use music production software or ma...
