Re: Bizarre playback error in Audacity 2.0.5
Audacity doesn't work over a network particularly well. It doesn't understand network delays and negotiation. Any chance you can edit locally and then move the work to the network drive?

Re: Creating a cassette converter plug-in
a plug-in that converts cassette to mp3. I'm foggy on the goal. Most people have trouble getting a cassette machine to play music into a Windows laptop at all. That's not a software problem. The hardware is basically incompatible. What is a plugin going to do to solve that problem? After the show i...

Re: Help Recording with a Mic, Laptop, and Headphones
Audacity is picking up what I say into the mic but not audio form the laptop. Not a problem as long as you're not using Skype. You can use the Overdubbing feature where you play back an existing track into your headphones and you sing along with it. Audacity will create a new track with just your s...

Re: Play Order for Exported MP3 Files
One would have thought that the designers would have thought about this. While the songs are in the computer, they're going to be sorted according to the filename like any file. Once in the audio production program, you can order them as you wish. Itunes has playlists and you can scramble the songs...

Re: Very Low Input Volume Setting
If you are using the actual USB signal pathway, then we expect that to work. The distortion and signal pathway problems are generally associated with an Analog input, not Digital. These turntables are not a gift from the angels, but generally, they do work. Remember that most of these are throw-away...

Re: Very Low Input Volume Setting
Chances are good the computer is only recording the "Left" sound in the stereo show as well as distorting. If you have a complete vinyl music playback system, then you can adapt that to the computer with a Behringer UCA202 or equivalent. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202L...

Re: Audio Input
No, probably not. Windows has the ability to scale the USB digital stream (as I understand it).Should there be a pad to drop the db, or volume down a bit before it gets to the record amplifiers.
Was there another question in there?

Re: Help Recording with a Mic, Laptop, and Headphones
If you got a good Skype recording with your computer before, you got really lucky. In general, you need to use a special program to record Skype. The best way to record Skype is to use software that is specifically designed for the job, such as "Skype Call Recorder" http://atdot.ch/scr/ (F...
