Re: hard panned left & right vocal needs rectifying

You can't take apart a mixed performance into individual voices and instruments. That's basically what's required to remix a show into a more pleasant form. There are tricks you can play with stereo imaging and Left-Right directional clues, but those, as you're finding are frequently not theatricall...

Re: Help Recording with a Mic, Laptop, and Headphones

And like I said earlier. Some people just push a few buttons on their normal computer and everything works without further fuss. Those people are dangerous because they think everybody can do that, but they are very much celebrities.

Re: Help Recording with a Mic, Laptop, and Headphones

While you're investigating these packages, one sticking point is the ability to record your conversation as a split show, so you can apply corrections to one side without affecting the other. They won't all do that, and if they only create one single mixed show, your correction opportunities are ver...

Re: Need Help with Bit Rate

If the process in my other post didn't work, you should tell me what version of Audacity you have.

Help > About.

Re: Need Help with Bit Rate

You only get to set bitrate in one of the compressed formats such as MP3. The uncompressed formats such as WAV are fixed. File > Export > MP3: Options... Audacity doesn't naturally export MP3. To do that, you have to install the Lame software. To do that you have to tell me what kind of computer you...

Re: SKYPE RECORDING LEVELS LOW

Skype recording is more of an adventure than you think. You are probably recording the Skype echo cancellation service, not the real thing. The best way to record Skype is to use software that is specifically designed for the job, such as "Skype Call Recorder" http://atdot.ch/scr/ (Free, o...

Re: Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ Recording Problems

But you're on a Mac. What does it say in Apple (upper left) System Preferences > Sound > Input? Do you see all your inputs?

Re: Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ Recording Problems

The instructions suggest strongly that Audio 8 DJ uses ASIO drivers. Audacity doesn't support ASIO. Audacity does support the Windows drivers, but they only support one stereo pair.

Re: help again!!!

If the Mac is permanently hung, press and hold the power button for ten seconds. Count to ten and then start normally.

Did you follow the Audacity install instructions? Audacity will not work right unless you drag the program folder into Applications.
