Re: Removing Vocals
Probably not. Note that Vocal Removal has a parenthetical alternate name (Center Pan Removal). That's what the tool was actually called through several version of Audacity and that's what it actually does. The elves spent a lot of time explaining what the cross was, so the tool was officially change...

Re: Mitigate overdose of reverb
Some of the higher end programs claim to be able to help with the convolver tools, but every time I try to pin someone down as to exactly how it all works, they hear their mum calling and have to leave. So unless someone corrects me, what you got is what you got. I tell people I don't play the piano...

And another note. Don't depend on AM radios working next to computers. Computers produce a healthy buzz on the AM band. You may need a long cable to connect them. Koz

Oh, yes. Some shows stream live and you may be able to capture them with Self Recording.

But don't depend on sporting events doing that. Their blackout services are legendary.

Re: Recording Radio Show w/Windows 8.1
To download it, someone would have to post the sound files on a server. I have a music system with a radio in it. I connect the stereo line-out to the computer line-in and record it in Audacity. Most radios don't have stereo line-out and most newer computers don't have stereo line-in, but that's the...

Re: natural echo created, how to remove?
mic jack, which I suppose acts line in. You should stop supposing that. Unless you have a celebrity laptop (they do exist) Mic-In is mono, not stereo and very, very easily overloaded causing distortion. It's intended for a tiny, delicate microphone signal. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/compute...

Re: smooth transition between equalizers
Or, you could duplicate the show, Command-D, equalize one of them and then gracefully fade between them with the envelope tools — two white arrows and bent blue line.

Re: sound only coming out of 1 speaker
I just did that solution on my machine and it works for me. I think the first thing I would do is view the full show. Control-F. You are looking at a small part of the whole track. Attached is a three picture series of what it's supposed to look like. The second picture will say Make Stereo Track wh...

Re: Mitigate overdose of reverb
No. That's why we recommend straight recording as clear and perfect as possible and do all the effects in post, never touching the original tracks. Copy them to a thumb drive and lock them up somewhere. If you had multi-track studio system, you could record both the straight and effects tracks side ...
