Re: Can't dispose of click sounds
could only do it for a few seconds That may be the clue. Is your machine starving? Audacity tools and effects use high memory and lots of hard drive space. If you're short of either one (or both), you can get some very entertaining problems. So an underpowered, wimpy machine is likely to create dam...

Your postings are moderated by the forum elves to keep you from trying to sell us Male Enhancing Drugs. You're not, are you? Lame is MP3 managing software. Playing an MP3 is free, but making a new one isn't. Lame is work-alike MP3 making software. Audacity won't do anything in real time. No applying...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 overdubbing problem with Audacity
I don't know that we ever had a poster complain about the sound quality of a 2i2, so once you get it working, it should make you happy. I think it's this one that's not a mixer. Once you plug something into Channel 1 over on the left, it's going to appear as Left in your stereo show and I don't thin...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 overdubbing problem with Audacity
I think this one comes down to Audacity always assuming a device will do 32-bit floating binary format. Some won't. I've never actually had this happen, so it's a mystery.

Re: Aud 2.0.5 DELAY AND REVERB SETTINGS???
If you're trying self-recording, recording a YouTube video or something similar, you should probably turn off Overdubbing and Playthrough.
Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [_] Overdubbing... [_] Playthrough ... De-select both.

Re: not recording
The Mic-In on your computer will not connect to a stereo cassette player. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/Line-Out_Mic-In.jpg Some computer will do this. Those are celebrities and we look upon them with awe and respect, but that's not normal. You didn't tell us anything about the player, but ...

Re: Poor sound quality
Audacity is the whipping boy.
More likely the new Windows has its conferencing processing turned on and it didn't used to be. It's OK for voice (Skype, etc.) but it kills music.

Re: Exported MP3 files are empty
You will need to stop being a moving target for a while. You are suffering, I believe, from the Windows Handicap of not showing you accurate filenames. You can force Windows to do that, or you can download the Media Info program which will tell you what you really have. http://mediaarea.net/en/Media...

Re: no recording shows up
Two items: Plug everything together and then start Audacity. Audacity checks for new connections when it starts up. You'll need to change Audacity to "look at" the new device. You do that with the device toolbar near the top of the Audacity work Window. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man...

Re: Removing Vocals
The worst thing that happened was that one guy on YouTube that got one song to perfectly cancel using similar tools. Everybody on earth assumed, wrongly, that all songs work like that. They don't. He picked a celebrity song and most songs don't work that well. That business of splitting and invertin...
