Re: Understanding the frequency
it does not matter if it happens 40times per second or 1 time and it is still considered a 40Hz signal? It's a 40Hz signal, but it's not sound. It won't be sound for another three or four cycles. I don't know if you've ever had the odd experience generating musical tones. You can't just turn them o...

Re: Recording equipment for voice
That didn't go as well as planned. Two attachments, one with a Radio Shack 3013 microphone into a C-Media ICUSBAUDIO, and the other an adapted 3013 plugged into a Shure X2U USB digitizer. It seems the ICUSBAUDIO suffers from the mosquito whine that plagues USB microphone systems. (clip 1) Two differ...

Re: Recording equipment for voice
My portable machines were chosen for reasonable built-in microphone performance. But if pressed, I'd probably go with a tiny USB adapter like this ICUSBAUDIO and instead of using this telephone microphone, plug in a Radio Shack 3013. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/olympus_TP7Blowup.jpg http://ww...

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity
You're good right there. I made the mono show and I'm sending it through processing (and writing it all down). I may not have been clear what I wanted. The Right-Brain Creative is going to bed without supper. Can I assume the second take is the one with the froggy voice? Have you figured out yet the...

Re: Recording sermon audio through soundboard
If the board is set up OK, then you may just need a stereo digital interface. I have a couple of these and there are some at work. They run very well. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo.jpg That's a Behringer UCA-202. The UCA-222 and UFO-202 can all be made to work. Other make...

Re: Recording sermon audio through soundboard
to the "in line" port on our mac. Does it look like the socket on the left? http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn.jpg If it doesn't, then you don't have a Stereo Line-In. Many new computers don't. There is one other possibility of failure. Figure out a way to plug headphones or...

The goal is one of these. Attached.
Another trick is opening up the file in Audacity just before you send it and make sure it's what you intended.
