Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity
You seem to have missed the first part of that question.

Re: Setting the Save Project Default file location
Did you try the plain vanilla File > Save As and change the directory and drive? Audacity defaults to saving stuff in the program folder on my machines, so I had to get rid of that in a hurry. Does the D: drive come and go? Is it always mounted on the machine? Audacity doesn't much like drive acroba...

(the occasional crash, but nothing dramatic) I think it's dramatic. My MBPs crash once every two or three....years. One of my two Minis crashed.....once. So we'll start with the assumption that you have a naturally unstable machine because of something odd you're doing. when trying to import mp3 Th...

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity
Limiting by 3 to 5 dB is probably the best compromise between energy preservation and distortion. I know this immediately gives everyone a bad taste, but how different is this from Effect > Leveler? I was able to get remarkably close to the required density of sound with Effect > Leveler: Moderate....

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity
To work. Have you ever added a tool or effect to your Audacity? Have you ever added a pre-baked filter to Effect > Equalization? The ACX process (so far) involves a number of little home-made programs and it's something of an Easter-egg hunt to find them all and install them. I've been keeping notes...
