Re: How to Bass Boost a song?

It's not clean bass. I did a quick analysis of the front of the song and yes it has beats at 50, but also at 150 and 300 (attached). It's "dirty bass" and they probably cooked it up in the studio. If you just boosted everything in that range it would get boomy and hurt your ears. If you ma...

Re: Recording has feedback noise in it

Do you mean that rain in the trees sound? That's not feedback. That's just hiss and noise from a bad recording. Are you using your system like in the attached picture? You should have the two RCA Master Outs (Left and Right) connected to the INPUT L & R of the UCA222. Plug the UCA222 into the co...

Re: 2.0.5 Windows Recording Issue

Which Windows? Can you get a good short recording? It's never worked right? What happened to the old computer and describe that one. The red recording meters meters bounce OK, but the blue waves stop being drawn? You have Audacity set to continuously draw the blue waves, right? There's a mode where ...

Re: Pops and clicks in playback during editiing

using an external analog audio mixer, using the microphone plug.
That's another way to cause problems. Mixer connections are robust, powerful and stereo. Mic-In is usually delicate, sensitive and mono.

That's a Behringer UCA202.

Re: Pops and clicks in playback during editiing

USB Audio Devices don't much like going through USB hubs with other equipment. That's a sure way to cause noise problems.

Re: Help for recording with new kit

I like my UCA-202 for connecting my mixer to my laptop.

It's only stereo, two channels (left and right), not four channels.

Re: Help for recording with new kit

recording audio port on the laptop Most laptops don't have a recording audio port, they have a microphone connection (Mic-In). If you plug something other than a microphone into it... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/computerAnalogMicrophone.jpg ...then it may buzz, hum, and create many problems....

Re: Recording has feedback noise in it

The forum only allows tiny sound files.

Does it happen when you speak? You should avoid posting electronica and techno songs to illustrate a problem which sounds like electronica and techno.

Re: Audacity crashes during import

If you're running Audacity 2.0.4 it's not the latest one. 2.0.4 can be unstable on Macs.

Re: Audacity crashes during import

What kind of Mac?
Which version of Audacity exactly?

What do we know about the two files? How large were they and how long were the shows?

Do you run a split machine with Windows? Was this the Windows version of Audacity?
