Re: Not working in iMac mavericks
I may have one of those Telephone adapters. I remember buying the two popular ones from Radio Shack hoping to find one that works. One plugs into the handset and uses the telephone built-in network to manage the sound and the other one plugs into the wall and used the straight phone line. I may have...

Re: HP VT501AA USB hissing sound
It is claimed there is a software package or driver for this microphone. Do you have it? They claim that the headphones are noise canceling. They probably claim the microphone is noise canceling. The headphones don't care. And it's properly a Headset. Combination of headphones and microphone. If you...

Re: Why can't I sync my audio recording with my video?! >_<
Most video systems can slosh back and forth between 44.1 and 48 with no problems. It's insanely popular to do that. You would get everyone's attention in a bad way if you made a program that didn't understand that. In the horse and buggy era of video we had to deal with the difference between NTSC (...

Re: Help running time code on channel without bleedover
Electrical problem? If you lose the ground connection on your headphone socket , it will turn stereo headphones into mono headphones with slightly lower volume as before. Also make sure you plug the headphones all the way in. I had one socket which would hang just before all the way. It took forever...

Re: Using Audacity with NuMark Mix Deck Quad
We should first find out if you're playing anything out of the Mix Deck. Plug an RCA to RCA cable into the Master Out and jam your earbuds into the other end. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/earBudsRCA.jpg Play something and you should be able to just hear it in the earbuds. If there's nothin...

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity
The original recordings do get remarkably close to the mark just sitting there. It gives us a false sense of accomplishment when we buff it up a little and out the door. The problem (besides making it so normal humans can manage this production) is making it so somebody who created trash can do it, ...

Re: USB audio from a USB mixer
Who is going to notice? You may get noticed if your vocal quality is significantly different from the shows on both sides of you. You may have nailed that with your studio. There's nothing like a metrobus, trash collection or dog barking in the background to kill your professional presentation. The...

Re: Looking for Temporary Files in Mac to Recover Lost Proje
You can get "The Sky Is Falling" message if you try to use punctuation marks inside a filename. You put enough slash marks inside a filename and OS-X will go ripping off looking for a disk drive that doesn't exist. Most people get this when they try to put dates in a filename. Today is 201...

Cool. Step one. Have you ever downloaded and installed an effect or filter into Audacity? Much of what we're doing does not come with the factory Audacity program.

Re: Help running time code on channel without bleedover
http://www.kozco.com/tech/LRMonoPhase4.wav Timecode is a real problem. It's audible even in very low doses and if you do anything at all wrong it bleeds everywhere. The early broadcast systems treated it as a secondary "it's only timecode so we don't have to worry about it" signal for rout...
