Re: sound quality of Speaker Loopback recording device
If you really are using the older Speaker Loopback, then the sound is going all the way through the soundcard, through the digital to analog converters, through analog routing and switching, to Analog to Digital converters and to you for recording. This is the older "legacy" way to record ...

Re: Multitrack recording with headphones
The Behringer UM2 will accept a guitar and/or microphone and it does support overdubbing.

That's the little black thing on the left with all the pieces I need to sing harmony to myself.

Re: Multitrack recording with headphones
I can't tell from the instructions. It seems the FX/thru switch will select one of the two modes you need to run at the same time. Here. You can try these. Play the guitar and the raw sound has to go to your headphones and Audacity at the same time. Record a little bit. Without touching the iRig set...

Re: Voxengo AnSpec vst displays only gray box
Audacity traditionally didn't get along well with plugins that had complex graphic interfaces. That's the first thing that came to mind when you said you got a gray box instead of controls and settings you were expecting. Sometimes programs will use fancy interfaces as sales or promotion efforts. Ki...

Re: Automatically export narrated text (labels) combined with same background music for all mp3's
I'm surprised nobody addressed the "sloppy MP3" problem. MP3 files do not have firm, fixed, reliable stop and start times. They wander making it a nightmare to do accurate production with them. Didn't you run into that when you did them manually? Where you put the sound and where it ended ...

Re: Recording new track to saved project in sync, when playback new track is out of time but in time by itself seperatel
You are listening to the Audiobox 96 during the production, right? The Audiobox is producing the performance mix and you have to listen with analog headphones. No fair using wireless earbuds or digital headphones. Digital sound is coming from the computer not the Audiobox and it's always going to be...

Re: Multitrack recording with headphones
As you found, simple overdubbing is totally possible by listening to the backing tracks and playing along. But Perfect Overdubbing, where you hear yourself as well as the backing track in perfect theatrical mix is only available with an interface set up for it. Audacity instructions use three differ...

Re: My hand made vocal booth and voice test
i decided to shut all the parts with foil. The first thing the sound hits should be sound deadening material or rock wool, not hard foil. You can go with it as it is, but I bet the vocal quality "opens up" if you strip out the foil. This should be a snap if everything has zippers. At mini...
