Re: poor recording quality w/audacity, mixer, & ext. speaker
That's kind of the way I do it. I have a MBP-15" and I have separate connections for Stereo Line-In and Stereo Headphones like this:

Is that what you have?

Re: Fading Effect Problem!
Oddly, I do. I think this is in current rotation here. But. The only segment I actually have is the iTunes clip and I don't think that phrase is in there. "It's taking me higher, higher. Higher off the ground." Also, there's two different versions. Him and Him with Travie McCoy. Do you kno...

Re: Newbie needs some advice on settings
I don't know off the top of my head, but Google FLAC and I bet it doesn't support very high sound standards, or it might, but not in the version that Audacity has access to. There is always that problem. For example, the Lame version used in Audacity is an enormously reduced version of the original....

Re: My band's new song using audacity!
Equalization and in fact many of the Audacity tools and effects can cause the blue waves to increase — many times into overload territory. That's why Audacity doesn't overload as long as you never leave. If you do insist on exporting your work you need to take steps to make sure your goal or target ...

Re: Newbie needs some advice on settings
People who use the words "Best" and "Unlimited" also tend to transfer and capture work using astronomically high sampling or bit rates or both. While this can be very good for live performances where you're going to stay high quality and do extensive editing and effects, many com...

Re: A De-essing Filter to remove sibilance
You open the work on your computer with the high quality sound system and adjust the settings so it sounds natural. I've only used the de-esser once and the default settings seem to work. I have no feel for what the controls do. You thought the performance was harsh and sibilant, so tune the tools s...

Re: TIMESTAMP 11 OVERDUB TRACKS
Sort of like when you use a video player there is always a time and place in the video and can use that to find specifics parts......different, i know...but you get my drift, i hope? I do get it, but video carries time with it and conventional sound doesn't. The video people are over there pre-sett...

Re: Anyone have Audio Technica AT2005USB?
When you settle on one piece or a suite of equipment, post it and we'll rip it apart. I don't mean in a crazy way. There is a tiny Behringer sound mixer which seems to be a gift from the angels until you find out that it will not work with all makers of condenser microphones. That information is way...
