Re: Loading ".aup" files

Audacity 2.0.4 wasn't the best Audacity version. You should upgrade to 2.0.5.

Re: Loading ".aup" files

AUP is a text file with instructions what to do with all that stuff in the _data folder where the actual sound is. If you tell Audacity that it's a sound file strange things will happen. You can open up an AUP file with NotePad or TextEdit and read it. It's words. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/aup1...

Re: ACX says screaming man is "heavily distorted audio"...

I think you crossed the line between narration and radio theater. You may have triggered one of their auto conformance tools, maybe the one against singing or theatrical special effects. Given the number of recent postings, I think the company is running in overload and not at all interested in arbi...

Re: Can't find aup file. My recording is split in 1000 files

You're not supposed to be inside the _DATA folder. If you do anything to the order or naming of any of those files the show may never come together again. The AUP file is a text file with the instructions of what to do with all those little snippets inside the _DATA folder, and no, they're not all s...

OK, that one's harder to deal with. Hitting pitch is good while you're singing. Was it good sh....er "stuff?"

Here it is. Effect > Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift. Again, I've never used it, so now you know what I know.

Re: Fading Effect Problem!

You understand that the song has it only applied to the primary vocal and the rest of the music is untouched. It's not going to sound the same if you try to apply it to everything.

As we go.

Re: Fading Effect Problem!

OK. I got it. Yes, that's not in the iTunes clip.

I've never used it, but there's a tool that allows you to apply an effect and change it over time. I would pick Effect > Change Speed but I need to look up the rest of it.

Re: Editing Recordings

It depends on how you made them. Many performers immediately correct the fluff so there are sometimes multiple versions of a phrase one right after the other so they don't lose the theatrical rhythm of the show. Audacity has the ability to add a label on the fly so you can mark the timeline when you...

Re: Can someone recommend compression settings for movie aud

That's Dolby Dial Norm or a version of it. Properly applied it will accurately reproduce thunderstorms and jets landing. Jury's out on what happens to a jet landing during a thunderstorm. It can be a problem if you aren't searching for the theater experience. You should try Chris's Compressor. http:...
