AUP is a text file with instructions what to do with all that stuff in the _data folder where the actual sound is. If you tell Audacity that it's a sound file strange things will happen. You understand that the song has it only applied to the primary vocal and the rest of the music is untouched. It's not going to sound the same if you try to apply it to everything.

I've never used it, but there's a tool that allows you to apply an effect and change it over time. I would pick Effect > Change Speed but I need to look up the rest of it.
