Re: Microphone input problem
Windows has the ability to manage microphone volume on a USB microphone. I think you need to mess about in the Windows Control Panels. That's the only place I can think which would change the volume. Generally, once you make a digital bitstream, the show is set. It's the analog microphones that have...

Re: Editing Audio with .1 millisecond accuracy
Working the maths backwards gives you the duration in the illustration.

Re: Editing Audio with .1 millisecond accuracy
Change the default Audacity sample rate from 44100 to 96000. Generate > Sine Wave: 8999Hz > OK. Cut the sine wave on the timeline down to eight cycles (illustration). That tone should last very close to your timing specification. Export that as a WAV (Microsoft) and you should be able to use it any ...

Re: Is there a way to import a .aup file into a .aup file?
I'm assuming your Mac has a superdrive, a CD Burner, or an external drive or burner. My MacBook Pro has an internal SuperDrive and I bought an external SuperDrive for my Mini, which came with no drives at all. Koz

Re: Is there a way to import a .aup file into a .aup file?
Most Audio CD Authoring Programs allow you to dump a hamper full of WAV files into them (maximum 99), arrange them as you wish (maximum total length 78 minutes), set the silent gap between them (default 2 seconds) and burn your brains out. So I would open each Project and Export it as a WAV (Microso...

Re: Mix and render problem: first channel gets over amplifie
The way I understood the illustration, the dashes are silent stretches and should not contribute to the show. When exported to a single sound file, the Project should produce three short performances one right after the other. We assume they were recorded at roughly the same volume. I do have a ques...

I promise I'm a real person We administer postings before the public sees them. The ones trying to sell us male-enhancement and kitchen cabinets are easy, but sometimes someone will post a valid question that appears like it might be a hidden commercial. That's what happened to you. My manhood and ...

Re: Removing background noise
Number four. The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording (reliable, time-tested ways to kill your show) -- 1. Echoes and room reverberation (Don't record the show in your mum's kitchen.) -- 2. Overload and Clipping (Sound that's recorded too loud is permanently trashed.) -- 3. Compression Damage (Never do ...

Re: Awful noise: reward within.
My cellphone charging station is right next to parts of my sound system and I can hear the phone negotiating a connection. No direct audio connection required. Yes, I think the best you can do is draw an interference map of your apartment by walking around with a portable receiver that buzzes. Don't...

Re: Editing Windows Audacity
There is another equally awkward fix. When you make a mistake, stop recording immediately and delete the fluff. Then use Append Record (Shift-R), to start recording again. This only works at the end of a performance. There's a variation on that in Audacity 2.0.5 where you find a fluff in playback an...
