Re: Problem with recording 24/96

a sample rate of 11.4kHz gets you beyond the frequency limits of human hearing.
A sample rate of 11KHz is good for sound at 5KHz.

Some formats have natural limits. Some are imposted by the sound program.

Re: audacity not saving

You need both the AUP and the _DATA folder of the same name to be in the same place, say your desktop. Then just double click the AUP file. Audacity should come running, open the AUP file, read the instructions and put your show back together from the files in the _DATA folder. This may not work if ...

P, Stop, and Shift-R work on all three computers.

Re: How to edit the length of a MP3 file

Actually, it's a pretty simple audio editor compared to the others. You did step in one mud puddle. Audacity will not make an MP3 without additional software. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame I suppose we should find out if you're trying to do the impossib...

Re: How do I record small sound bits of podcasts or youtube

You can do self-recording in Windows, but sometimes it can be a challenge. Some computers are actively hostile to the idea.

Re: audacity not saving

AUP is not a sound file. It's a text file containing the instructions of what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder. That's where all the sound is. You need both and only Audacity can open them. You can File > Export to get a real sound file that anybody can open. Audacity default is Microso...

Re: Behringer C1-U or Samson CO1U or Blue Snowball iCE

I do have a sound clip of the mosquito sound. Hear it in the background? Some microphones do this and some don't.

Re: Behringer C1-U or Samson CO1U or Blue Snowball iCE

I see. The Snowball iCE is the stripped-down version of a Snowball. Only one capsule, no pattern switching, etc. Both the Behringer and the Samson had very nice microphones in the non-U version. The minute you go to the USB versions, you get all the USB problems: six foot maximum cable run, lower th...

Re: time sync issue between usb turntable-mac Audacity softw

Unplug the turntable and restart Audacity. Try to record your MBP built-in microphone. Select it with the Device Toolbar in Audacity. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Turn the volume down on the speakers. Say "hello, one, two, three." Stop and play it back. Did that...
