Re: Dropouts when recording improvements

solid state drive, brand new. So you've been messing around inside your Mac? Did you take a vacuum and soft, clean paintbrush to your fans and vent channels? Keyboard? Do the glitches occur in exactly the same time every time you play the work? Can you find the damage by zooming? It's not that unus...

I can't figure out how to edit a post.
Do Not edit your posts. Edited posts—reading backwards—are impossible to follow.

I need to go back and read that again.

Re: Help! audio file will not play back

I have done workable interviews with a smartphone parked on the table between us and a recording app. That's your Plan B if the computer won't do it. That's also assuming a flesh and blood interview, not a Zoom. If you are doing a free-air Zoom recording—no headphones—you might be able to get a pass...

Re: Blue Yeti won't connect

The most common connection problem is order of appearance. Connect the microphone first and let it settle and then run Audacity. Audacity checks for devices when it starts. You can make Audacity look around later with Transport > Rescan... What happens when you plug your analog headphones into the Y...

Re: Help! audio file will not play back

Select the interview with the Select button on the left. Effect > Amplify > OK. That will automatically apply the maximum volume boost up to the Audacity limit. Both parties can look at the long form time (hours, minutes, seconds)...

Do you have a spinning metal hard drive or Solid State Drive? Do you have an iCloud connection or any internet connection while you're transf...

Re: Echo in the recordings, how to stop it?

Sometimes for troubleshooting, we have to build your system in our heads, so it's good to know what everything is and how you have it connected. Pretend I'm going to buy what you have. I need model numbers.

Re: Crackling static when playing any audio file IN the app.

can you cause it to fail in a repeatable way? That's a big deal in servicing. "When I do this, it does that— every time ." If you can't come up with an action like that, you have what the developers call "Moon Phase" problems. Sometimes when the moon is quarter full on a Thursda...
