Does it do that in 2.0.5, the current version?

Re: recording from Peavey PV14usb to
You're sending channel faders to the recorder? Not the mixer main output? The other thing that occasionally trips us up is whether you're sending a pre or post fade signal down the USB, as this could affect the levels.

Re: Skipping Areas Between Clips?
It's not likely to be that, but it's not that unusual for a machine restart to cure a "magic" performance issue. It's the go-to suggestion when the poster presents a problem that doesn't fall into other, more common possibilities.

Re: Audacity playback
Did you turn down either the volume slider to the left of the track or the Audacity Mixer Toolbar by accident? Both of those will kill the Audacity playback.

Re: Software real time Sequencer
Not Audacity. Audacity isn't a sequencer and getting Audacity to record a sequencer output can be a challenge — particularly if you're trying to get the computer to do both. Anything wrong with buying another Casio Sz1?

Re: Name this forum!
They're both stories and neither one has to hit a time cue. It's fundamentally different from voiceovers which do.
There's zero production difference between the campfire and someone reading a short story and making no mistakes. They're sisters.

Re: Name this forum!
Voiceovers (voices-over?) have more in common with overdubbing than with audiobooks. The voiceover people are speaking to an existing production. They have all the sync and latency problems that happen when you're creating your own quartette. They are of a group with those trying to run commentary t...

This probably would not be a special group at all without that.

Re: Managing Recording Volume
Macs have little or no provision for changing the volume of a USB device. I think the instructions were pointing to the Mac System, not the Audacity System. Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Sound > Input. There should be a slider there and a blue ball sound meter. If the overload is restric...

Re: Help on recovering long recording with corrupt .aup file
You may have no show. The AUP is a text file (you can open it in Notepad) that contains the instructions of what Audacity should do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder. Between missing a good AUP file (apparently) and also having bad blocks, there may be no way to put back together what's left. ...
