Re: Small files
What kind of file are you exporting? The MP3 file format has options during export. The compression or quality option can do that. I bet if you Exported a WAV from each computer the sizes would be the same.

Re: Opening .aup files?
Double click on the AUP file and it will open the similarly named _DATA folder with all the sound in it. The AUP file will not go looking for the _DATA folder. If it's not in the same location or folder the project will fail. I expect an AUP file and a _DATA folder in the same USB thumb drive should...

Re: Clicks/Beeps in Recorded Audio w. Video Examples
PS you're using a bit too much noise reduction +1. Your voice has a talking into a wine glass sound and the spaces between words are deathly dead quiet. Both of those can be caused by too much noise reduction. the diaphragm of the mic occasionally sticking and freeing itself with a click + ring. IM...

Re: Making loud screams so that they aren't unbearable
Babies screaming on jets, fingernails on blackboards, etc. They all produce tones in about the same 3KHz range of frequencies that the ear likes a lot. The problem is I know of no way to recognize these tones and compress them. I guess you could leave them loud but take the edge off, or you could le...

Re: Wav file is static
I made up a simple stereo WAV file and it's bitrate is 1,412 Kbps. So you have an odd duck. If you have FFMpeg installed and it still won't open, then you may have a damaged file.

Re: Wav file is static
PCM files don't have an "overall" or approximate bit rate. They have a fixed one and it's far higher than that.Overall bit rate : 16.0 Kbps

Re: Clicks/Beeps in Recorded Audio w. Video Examples
Remember in the dialog when you said you would post a time stamp for the distortion sample? Do that. I'm with the YouTube poster who can't hear anything wrong, but that doesn't mean it's not there. It's just the most fun when two out of five listeners can't hear the problem. Technological Twilight Z...

Re: export from the beginning of the track, to the end
Which Audacity version are you using? I thought we got rid of that problem in a recent version. One way around this is to create a dead silent track (Generate > Silence) the length of the whole show. When you File > Export Selection, select the silent track along with the desired track. Audacity wil...
