Ignore the commercials they sprinkle through the panel. Do Not download Cleaner or Roxio.

Re: Manually stretching a clip

I'm guessing no because Audacity doesn't do anything in real time. But it should not take thousands of trials. Some arithmetic should do it. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/change_speed.html Do you know why you have the sync issue? Two different USB microphones? Guitar and Voice performed on tw...

Re: Stopping Audacity to open on bootup.

Probably start by telling us what kind of computer you have.

Then go on to the system number (Windows 7) and which Audacity using all three numbers.

Re: Creating a cassette converter plug-in

There is a playback tool you missed. You have a tape recorded Dolby B or Dolby C, but you have a standard player. Fixing that would be a very valuable option.

Re: Creating a cassette converter plug-in

So what you're saying here is while there are noise removal effects, there aren't any for tape noise reduction specifically? Would it be possible for me to just use an existing noise removal plug-in? I can sense you wandering off in all directions. Noise Removal isn't one single thing. You run Nois...

Re: muddled/staticy recordings

Monitor your show by right-clicking on the red recording meters > Start Monitoring. Is the sound bad there? That setting runs the whole recording channel beginning to end including the playback system. If there is going to be some sound damage, it should show up there without making a real recording...

Re: Balancing voice tone/sound when recorded in different lo

When they heard it back later, they wanted to add a line or two. That's deadly. Your comeback line is: "I'll see if I can get the same hall where the original was recorded. Without that, the only other option is to record the whole thing again." That usually cures the insane urge to micro...

Re: Yosemite

I'm not a Garageband fan, either. This is an actual broadcast sound shoot with Audacity. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/JMASoundShoot.jpg If you are upgrading an earlier OS-X, I would generate a very compelling reason to do so. Blindly upgrading "because it's there" can be a very p...

Re: Very low volume while recording

One more. Make sure you're recording The Turntable and not the laptop microphones. The Device Toolbar should say some words with "USB" in the title. It should not say "Built-In Microphone." http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Audacity checks for devices when ...
