Re: Signal Just cutting out during a line in recording
forgive me if don't include all info. You're doin' fine so far. I'll have to switch to another program Which, unless we can resolve this, might do the same thing. And you thought you were sailing right along there... I will admit to a blank look as I was reading this. If somebody had a gun and said...

Re: How to clip negative side of a waveform?
http://www.kozco.com/tech/LRMonoPhase4.wav It's 39 seconds long. Download that, import it to the timeline and watch the blue waves as you play it. It may still be true that Avid video editors don't use waveforms like Audacity does. It uses "baskets of loudness" like SoundCloud (attach). As...

I think what you have now is normal. I don't know anybody that uses the auto launch feature. Do you have any idea how it got selected? Koz

Re: cutting vocals
The YouTube version usually has you splitting the stereo track and inverting one of the two, etc, etc, etc. You can do that much easier with Effect > Vocal Removal which has all of those steps baked into one tool. However, the majority of songs don't work very well. The songs in the YouTube tutorial...

Re: Stopping Audacity to open on bootup.
There are other ways to get auto-open stuck on your Mac. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4074116 Do you routinely have other applications open when you start? This turns out to be an obscure business setting where workers may want the Microsoft Office tools to open every time they start — no qu...

Re: Stopping Audacity to open on bootup.
There's still something wrong. Having Audacity on your dock is not supposed to cause it to open when you start your Mac. Do the rest of your dock applications open on startup? I seem to recall a setting somewhere that can do that. Can you do a screen grab (Command-4) and drag a box around the applic...

Re: no sound on exported file
There are some diagnostics you can do to try and localize the problem. Audio recording isn't the most straightforward thing you've never done. Actually listening to the show during recording is nice, but not required once you get rolling. The sound meters and blue waves on the timeline are very impo...
