Re: HELP
Audacity doesn't have live chat or telephone support. However, we do OK on the forum. What's the specific problem? The most information you can tell us about your system the better. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/Documents/PostingQuestions3.pdf People do get burned with promising insanely compli...

Re: New user needs advice on the Device Toolbar
Windows can reserve or hide some of its devices and services. Close Audacity and take it up with the Windows Control Panels. This is where I duck in the corner. I'm a Mac elf. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_selecting_your_recording_device.html You should also know that Audacity checks...
Re: MBox
I'm going with no.
It's not that hard to split up the performance. From the drop-down listing to the left of the stereo track: Split Stereo to Mono.
Then [X] delete the one you don't want.

Re: Further clarification: splitting a recording into tracks
A note. There is no AUP format. You're referring to the AUP Audacity Project instruction file. It's a text file whose job is to tell Audacity what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder of the same name. That's where the actual sound is (in special Audacity arrangement) The AUP file and the _...

Re: Further clarification: splitting a recording into tracks
I have a long voice recording still in .aup format. How long? The maximum length of an Audio CD is about 78 minutes. Assuming one long performance not to exceed 78 minutes. The Readers Digest version of this: Place a label at the beginning of each segment you wish to appear as one selectable "...

Re: Skype Recording issues
Might be time to use Google talk instead. Does Google Talk have a recording option and can you split the conversation? Remember one very common problem is the need to filter or do effects on one side of the conversation only. It's almost impossible to split up a mixed conversation into sides once t...

Re: Improving audio quality through hardware
The people in that gaming video were not doing that over slow internet. They're sharing gaming data and a live video connection. The slow internet problem is very serious. It limits what you can do because no matter what kind of recorders you have, the show still has to squeeze down the soda straw c...

Re: Improving audio quality through hardware
If your internet speed is slow, Skype will never sound any better than a bad, bubbly AM radio. Remember the UP speed is frequently much worse than your DOWN speed. The Split Recording may be your only option. I half-did one experiment with USB Stick Recorders such as this. http://www.dhgate.com/prod...

Re: How to make a musical medley?
How do I do a mashup of songs? Have you done a mashup in any software? Import all the songs in Audacity and they will appear above each other on the timeline and play at once. Use the Time Shift Tool (two black sideways arrows) and the Envelope Tool (two white arrows and bent clue line) to put each...
