You can install the FFMpeg software to let Audacity recognize many more different sound file types than Audacity alone.

That part is a little odd. Audacity doesn't "save" sound files. To get a sound file you have to Export one. Use WAV export if you want to make an Audio CD. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_or_minidiscs_to_cd.html Scroll down to the tutorials. There are hints ...

If you play a standard Music CD on a computer, the computer will go on-line to look up the song titles and any other information. It will appear that the titles are on the CD. However, if you put that same CD in a car CD player or an older portable CD player, you are likely to get TRACK-1, TRACK-2, ...

This one is an actual wall-powered, USB or analog connected, Behringer 6 XLR microphone mixer with 48volt Phantom Power. You could cheat. Generate > Silence at the beginning of the track you want delayed. You can define the length of the silence.

The iMic has (had) the ability to switch between Microphone-In and Stereo Line-In. If you get that switch wrong, you may get Mono or Left-only.

I hope I didnt leave anything out Model numbers on your original stuff would have been nice. We have to build your system in our imaginations as we do this. Which Peavey died? Radio Shack Microphones can do very well. Many of them are re-labels from commercial units. Which microphones is a big deal...
