Re: Need help with extreme noise removal/voice recovery
"I think my employees are stealing from me and I have the proof on this audio file that I can't understand. Please help me put my employees behind bars." ~~ What was your show? Straight interview that went bad because of technical reasons? Our next concern is another failure if you try it ...

Re: No sound imputting
What kind of microphone do you have and how is it connected? The computer can have many different audio connections. One recent posting wondered why the microphone wasn't working when they had the CD player music selected. Whatever you're using for a microphone and the setting in the Audacity Device...

Re: Need help with extreme noise removal/voice recovery
I think the sample I'm providing has at least the young female voice in it. We can't do forensics. If you're in the "I think there's a voice there" territory, you're way beyond anything we can do. You should start planning what you would do if you had no show. The clip has very odd soundi...

Re: stereo to mono amplitude
The tool adds up the left and right sound and divides by two. The process has to survive someone arriving with a two-track mono show masquerading as stereo. If it didn't do that, a two-track mono show would convert as 100% overload distortion. So the conversion is working as it's supposed to. If you...

What format are you using for the export? This sounds like something MP3 might do. We warn people never do production in MP3. Precision timing is very difficult.

Re: Help With Vocal Audio Clip
I'm thinking the returned echo will always have a certain characteristic - certain frequencies bouncing back very strongly. You can process a small room that way. That's "honking" or talking into a wine glass effect where the echo has a strong pitch personality — the walls in the room rin...

Re: Help With Vocal Audio Clip
Can't a good line on the 'shape' of the echo be got from sampling the end of a 'period' when the echo is all you have? It's " echoes are all you have. " The echo at the end is a grouping of all the echoes in the last spoken sentence. Someone posited that if you walked out just before the ...

Re: "Show Clipping" Options
I'm not necessarily in love with "three samples over." I want a graceful supposition of probable clipping damage and that it matches as default on both tools. I strongly disagree they should measure the same thing differently. I don't care where the setup panels is, either, but something t...

Re: Creating 2 seconds on wma files
That's almost the exact error you get between 48000 sample rate (television audio) and 44100 (music CD). It's rough to cross them like that by accident. Did you try to change the sample rate with the drop-down menu on the timeline? That's not a good place to do that, and it's not needed for a lot of...
