Re: Need help recording USB Microphone input AND skype call!
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=80355#p251167 You are warned about trying to do production in MP3. MP3 compression sound damage builds as you edit. Also, some packages will not give you a split show which can be OK if the sound quality and volume work OK in one pass. Some peop...

Re: Need help recording USB Microphone input AND skype call!
You can use Skype Call Recorder.

or Pamela Business or Pamela Professional.

Pamela is the full pro application and will give you two independent sound tracks so you can edit and filter one voice without interfering with the other.

Re: Blue spark digital Mic hiss (even when muted)

Re: Blue spark digital Mic hiss (even when muted)
Microphones don't hiss. Electret and condenser microphones are capacitors and rock band microphones like SM57 and SM58 are inductors. Reactive components (inductors and capacitors) we are told in our electronics courses do not create noise. However, all of those microphones produce stupid-small soun...

Re: Clipping when amplifying after importing second track
the mix and render to new track created a new track, but the new track didn't contain both original tracks---it left out the original "rain" track. That's not right. Which version of Audacity are you using and on which Windows? I'm using 2.0.5. You have to select each of the tracks you wi...

Re: 60Hz Hum: Filter(?)
Try different USB computer connections. If you have a USB extender cable, try running the microphone without that. Climb into your headphones. Plug into the computer headphone socket or wherever your normally monitor. Set up Audacity for live monitoring. Right-click anywhere in the red recording met...

Re: Clipping when amplifying after importing second track
And yes. If you simple mix two very similar tracks, the combination will go up 6dB. 6dB is half and double (depending on which way you're going).
