Re: Strange Buzzing on Recording for One Track

Sorry, the image isn't from a current recording. We can only go with what you tell us. I create an aggregate device I've done that with two microphones, but never three. I got nothing. If somebody said I had to guess at it, I'd say the machine wasn't powerful enough to handle it. Do you have an SSD...

Re: unable to retrieve recording after pcu shutdown

was able to play it back with no problem. You're missing the words: "Then I Saved or Exported it." You didn't, right? Did you close Audacity before you turned the computer off? After turning of cpu More slippery words. Did you Shut Down the computer, or just reached over and pushed the po...

Re: Audacity Worked, Then Didn't: "Exporting Selected Audio"

even though I select new portions, the file will save as a previously saved word. So even if you Export Selection and write a new name in the Save As: dialog, Audacity exports on top of a previous file with that file's name? And the Mac doesn't object to that? The latest series of OS-X tools appear...

Re: Problems recording bass, both direct in and mixing

You should not change the information in earlier posts. It makes following your problem crazy difficult. Good you got it to work. As above, DVDDoug, this doesn't normally work very well. Soundcard Mic-In is not a generic sound connection and it's easy to overload it and/or create a noisy performance...

Re: Strange Buzzing on Recording for One Track

recording on three tracks with three separate mics
You must be leaving words out or something because you can't do that. Audacity will only record from one device at a time. The illustration says you 're recording from the Built-In Microphone. Where are the three tracks coming from?

Re: ripping individual songs from CDs from tapes

MP3Gain and WAVEgain, actually change the file-volume so it works with any player or player-software. If you are making an audio CD, you'd choose WAVEgain. That was one question I had. ReplayGain just adds a loudness tag inside the soundfile, right? Do all CD burners pay attention to that? Is it av...

Re: UNABLE TO RECORD USING CARVIN MIXER

There are no RCA inputs on the Focus-rite I understand that. The RCA to RCA thing was just a test to see if you were getting sound out of the Carvin. Please try not to jump around. Getting Audacity to run may not happen for another two or three forum cycles. The Focusrite has a headphone connection...

Re: Problems recording bass, both direct in and mixing

Actually, you're still leaving something out. The 1/4 plug only has one black ring, right? It's the cable you normally use to plug your SM57 into your amp. Actually, that combination should work — with the SM57 into the soundcard, not always by plugging your amp into the soundcard. I've done that wi...
