Just because this is a critical point, you don't move the Audacity program file into /Applications. You move the Audacity application folder.(attached). If you did this with Audacity 2.0.6, then you may have got a real Mac installer.

Re: Audio Help
Programs such as Skype delight in running around the computer resetting sound services to suit themselves and many times you have very little to say about it.

Too many people opened up the DMG into a little drive and try to run Audacity directly from that instead of completing the install. The problem with that is it will seem to work, but the computer and Audacity don't really k...

Re: Got some very annoying peaks. Cant filter them, help!
You can get rid of them one at a time as long as they don't crack at the same time you are talking.
Drag-select the crack and silence it with Control-L (attach, before and after).

There it is. http://hosatech.com/product/xvm-305f/ You need to make sure the right-angle plug will fit to your computer. It Must plug all the way in. It would probably work OK with this computer. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound.jpg But probably not one of these. http://kozco.com...

And just to spread even more sunshine, there's the possibility it's still not going to work. I have an external sound adapter that doesn't work with this trick. Koz

Re: EV Cobalt CO9 mic, is it stereo or mono?
Nope. The 1/8" plug has too many black bands (attach). That's the common cable which can cause damage when used with a normal computer soundcard. That plug needs to have only one black band. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/UnbalBalAdapter.jpg I once found a maker that actually offered the right ...

Re: Got some very annoying peaks. Cant filter them, help!
Your system does not like playing a game and recording your voice at the same time. The game may need to steal the computer briefly and that's when Audacity cracks. This is a common problem with people who want to record game commentary. That's very difficult to do without special software. Audacity...
