Re: Disentangling two male speakers in one track
Probably not. Software has no intelligence. All it knows is the show has a series of sounds. At best it may be able to sense a human presenter/announcer with a particularly rich and complex voice. One presenter. There's a fuzzy rule of thumb that if you can't understand the presenter in the original...

Re: Radio signal interruption/interfrence
Do you have a sample of the sound you want, in case none of us has ever met a military-encoded RTTY-75 (Radio Teletype 75 baud WIDE) transmission?

Re: Latency, Latency, Latency!
There's a whole thing about tuning out Recording Latency. It's not hit or miss. For example, on a live microphone, I use a close feedback technique. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity//pix/GTrackEarBuds.jpg Send the alignment track into the headphones and then directly into the microphone. Inspect the t...

Re: Comparing two supposedly identical tracks.
While giving it little or no thought, I would import both of them, invert one and mix and render to a new track. If the new track is completely silent, then they're the same. But I know that doesn't tell you about a match down to bit level and I also know it will miss a little due to the way digital...

Re: First timer - Recording Levels too low
Perfectly delightful microphone. It's fame is with instruments, but I've used it for other things. I think it just got that reputation for no good reason. You should know that a correctly matching connector (XLR3-Female) is a really good idea for that microphone. It's at its best when you use all th...

Re: Recording Denon MK6000 MK2 Mic
Unless one of the other elves has other ideas, it's now between you and Denon. Audacity gets its sound/music/voice from Windows.

Re: Import Audio File
You can install MediaInfo to see what you actually have there (it's not an MP3). You can make Windows stop hiding filename extensions (turns out MyMusic.mp3 is really MyMusic.ac3). You can install VLC and use the INFO tools inside that (Codec Details > Stream 0), or you can install FFMpeg software i...

Re: Equilization settings seem to change
You're using a lot of fuzzy words there. Save after equalizing or Export? Move On to a new song and Bring it Back Up . Are you Importing and Exporting a collection of individual song files, or working on one single Audacity Project with many songs in it? If the latter and you really are Saving, you ...

Re: Trying to add lame MP3 encoder.
Next time that happens, post with details about what you did and where you did it. If there is something broken, we need to know what to fix. Start with the overall Windows download page: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows Scroll down to Lame MP3 Encoder. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/f...

Re: Recording Denon MK6000 MK2 Mic
The MC6000MK2 appears as a Microphone in the Windows Recording Devices panel and has been enabled. Do you have sound there? My Win7 machine had a little bouncing sound meter to tell me that there was actually sound on that connection. As a fuzzy rule, Anything that Windows can see, Audacity can use...
