Re: Cannot record microphone through mixer
Oh, there it is. Connect the Rec Out (Recorder Output) to a Behringer UCA202 or Stereo Digitizer of your choice and plug that into your computer. Restart Audacity and use the Audacity Device Toolbar to find the UCA202. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html It won't say Behringer. ...

Re: Cancelling out audio from one file in another
Noise Removal only works on long sound events that don't change. So microphone hum and air conditioner noise is fair game, but dog barking, car starting up, talking and music is not. So we keep drifing back to finding out what the job is.

Re: Cancelling out audio from one file in another
...and since there are 26,000 files, it may take me a very long time. What's the actual job and how involved and complicated is it?that takes me hours to align the files.

Re: Cancelling out audio from one file in another
Vocal Isolation. I bet there's a failure reason you haven't thought of. Are they MP3 files? MP3 compression and sound damage changes with content, so the music/background part of the two files isn't exactly the same. That may be why you can't get them to cancel manually. They will probably never can...

Re: Positive latency correction -- why would you want it?
Another variation on that is the hazy memory of someone in Late Victorian London requiring this once, so we better include it.

"Cover Your Butt" programming? "We can all stop what we're doing and try to find some condition that requires this, or we can put it in Just In Case and keep going." I bet including it wasn't even a tiny development speedbump.

Re: Recovering .au files without a .aup file
I attempted to begin making my finals changes After you saved it, right? Probably a bad idea to edit and work on a "hot" recording. If anything goes wrong you have no show. Fill in the blanks from the pink band at the top of this message. Which Windows, etc. Blue screens are pretty rare i...

Re: Lost minutes of recording before saving
At the beginning of the recording I always verify Audacity is recording. By doing what? I use the bouncing red sound meters which I make really large. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg Do you get the accumulation of blue waves, too? If you have both of those, then Audacity thinks ...

Re: Cannot record microphone through mixer
Many of us do blitz-posting. Peel off a couple of seconds from daily activity to answer or comment on a posting and then off to getting petrol/gas for my truck/lorry and scaring up lunch. Sitting down for a formal help session means I have to stop what I'm doing and make sure the camera still works ...

You need to be in Stop and not Pause to get the tools to work.
