Re: Audacity sometimes sees my USB mic, sometimes not
Check the USB lead for possible damage. Is this the microphone with the ten foot long, 6 foot maximum USB cable to run 12 inches? Do you have another, shorter cable? If the connection fails for any reason no matter how briefly, Audacity will drop it like a hot rock, but Windows will build it up aga...

Re: Audacity sometimes sees my USB mic, sometimes not
I see others doing it, but I don't see how. Prepare the image on your desktop or other common, known location. Scroll down from a forum text window > Attachments > Add Files. Audacity can "lose" a connection if it's expecting Stereo and you deliver Mono, or the other way around. Koz

Re: No Audacity Output Heard When Zoom is Running
Is there no reason I couldn't use the headphone mic on the secondary Zoom session as well? Isn't your voice part of the Zoom recording at Zoom? Your original complaint was everything was OK and the Audacity recording was correct and perfect, but you simply couldn't hear what was happening. The seco...

Re: ACX Check
And it's been working, right?Suddenly my ACX Check won't work
Did Windows do an update in the middle?
Try a clean restart of Windows. Shift-Shutdown. Not plain Shutdown and not Restart. That takes longer and does a more complete "cleaning" of Windows.

Re: Behringer UM2
Try plugging into the center of the XLR connection (on the left). That's Line-In which isn't the same as Instrument, but they are cousins and it may work for you. You may need to turn GAIN-1 all the way up. Use the UM2 Green/Red lights as guides for volume and do final adjustments in Audacity later....

Re: No Audacity Output Heard When Zoom is Running
For example, if the complaint is you can't hear, but the other people can, your second machine can be a "fake" Zoom subscriber with no microphone whose sole job is to drive your headphones.

Re: No Audacity Output Heard When Zoom is Running
It's like I'm hearing an echo from about six hours ago. "I'm producing a movie in Los Angeles and half my team is in New Zealand. I need to be able to Zoom with all of them and at the same time show video clips of the edit so far, and live comment, and hear ......... etc." There is somethi...

Hills and valleys. Arriving sound bounces from one of the hills, across the valley, and bounces from a second hill, getting quieter each bounce.

Re: Recording Video on You Tube
I think you violated a couple of computer rules. Audacity can only record from one thing. There is no "record my voice, and." Even if you're set up for overdubbing, the backing track is already recorded. So Record my voice and Play the backing track. And that brings us to the second rule. ...
