Re: Singles vs albums
You should probably tell us the long version of the story starting with the information in the pink band at the top of this thread. What is the job? I mean the real job, not the abbreviated "I need to compile" version. What slideshow and in what application? What are you starting with? Whe...

Re: Looking for additional EQ presets
How does Time Machine handle this? I did a MacBook Pro upgrade and told the machines to update themselves. They did it across significant OS versions and gave me a list of applications that failed. Of course, if you were a complete slob on your old machine, that's the environment that will follow yo...

Re: doing sessions with multiple tracks
One reeely common mistake is to record Stereo Mix instead of the microphone or instrument pickup. If you do that, your new production track isn't just your voice or guitar. Instead, it's a mix between the old and new track. In that case, yes, you're stuck and there is no way to slide one against the...

Re: Stopping Recording and Starting again on same track
Append Record will always tag new work at the end of old. It will not "Smash Record" anywhere in the work like tape machines used to do. If you have a recover point somewhere in the middle instead of at the end, select the new insert point and delete everything after that. Then Append Reco...

Re: Recording problem
Normally, you would be recording sound playing on the computer like this: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html But you don't have normal sound. Your sound device may try to force 7.1 surround or some other non-standard sound format. "USB mul...

Re: Error in Opening Sound Device
The show isn't coming from Line-In. It's coming from Stereo-Mix. Stereo-Mix is a "fake" device generated in software that allows the speaker sound to "fold back" into the recording service so Audacity can capture it. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_p...

Re: Can I add pictures/album covers to the meta data?
Into which sound format would you like to do this?
I'm guessing no. Audacity support for metadata is just OK, not terrific. It doesn't support every option on every sound format.

Re: Exported MP3 altering amplification
What am I doing wrong? Using MP3? MP3 gets its small file sizes by causing very careful, patented distortions in the show. It's not a perfect sound format. While the show is in Audacity, it's in super high quality internal format, but when you MP3 export, lame applies the algorithms and processes t...

Re: What I need
By the way, this is a Product Request. Because of the way Audacity works, it has no Clip INFO. You don't miss that until Something Goes Wrong.
