Re: Record from Internet audio files

Step one: If you had an older MBP, it didn't have a Microphone Input. If it looked like this: http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg ..like mine do, it had a Stereo Line-In and and Stereo Line-Out. They were direct mirror images of each other, and yes, the jumper cable worked as lo...

Re: Is it possible to have alternating left/right vocal soun

Re: Multi Tracks

If it's a single note, then try Effect > Change Tempo.

http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/change_tempo.html

If the note is in there along with a bunch of other notes, maybe you don't.

Re: static when adding opening sound

Can you supply the parts, clips and songs you used to get this problem? Obviously, if this is a two hour long show with hundreds of clips, then no, but if it's a simple show and you can make this failure whenever you feel like it, you have just become a celebrity.

Re: FFmpeg Exporter Not Working

FFMpeg doesn't support MP3. That's what Lame does.

Since you're on a Mac, you can do it in iTunes.

Re: Problem In recording

Ticking and skipping means (usually) the computer can't keep up with the show data. We wrote a thing about this.....somewhere..... Here. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#skips Not all computers can be a Digital Audio Workstation. Or some can if they're cleaned ...

Re: Audacity works different on 2nd PC

Self-Recording is a dance between the operating system, the soundcard and the recording software. Everyone has to play nice. Nobody is shocked if you line up four different computers and one fails completely, one is distorted and the other two work fine. Self-recording is not a guaranteed service. D...

Re: No audio recording.

OK. Stop, stop stop. Close Audacity and leave it closed. Back to the Mac System Preferences. If you have a UCA202 (as in the illustration) and select USB Audio Codec, you should get healthy, vigorous bouncing blue balls when you play music (or talk or whatever the show is). If you don't, then whatev...

Re: Meeting ACX Requirements w/ Audacity

Back in the Paleolithic, we would judge noise by watching a sound meter bounce. In my case it was the Hewlett-Packard 334A Distortion Analyzer used in straight voltmeter configuration. A later Sound Technology meter worked in a similar way. The instrument had an RMS characteristic and everybody had ...

File > Import should open a second timeline in your existing window. Dragging a file into your window should work, too.
