Re: Making a song go back to a specific time
leaving my mouse at the audacity window is iffy at times and moves around a lot. Can anybody else sense problems? Some other programs and Apps don't let go of services even when the focus is elsewhere. It would be good if you told us what the show actually is and how you're producing it. Does the s...

Re: Need Help with Muffled Speech!
.AUP is an Audacity Project information file, not sound. If you have used the built-in microphone before and got reasonable results (it's never going to win a Grammy), then it should be possible to do it again, reliably. Never let the computer do auto-updates. Update Services assume they're the mast...

Re: Import file size limitations?
A word on WAV files. They have a restriction of 2GB, so you have to juggle that in the mix. All in, you probably have the best production path.

Re: Import file size limitations?
I don't know that there is a restriction for show length in the region that you have — assuming you do have an MP3. Most people assume they have an MP3 no matter what it really is and Windows hiding the filename extensions doesn't help any. If Audacity mysteriously doesn't open the show, you may nee...

Re: Recording Problem With Sound Blaster Audigy FX card
Self Recording depends on the sound card, driver software and operating system all holding hands. Check for updated driver software or Google for problems with your combination. If the computer doesn't make sound available to Audacity, that's the end of the story. There is no way for Audacity to &qu...

Re: Settings confusion after using Sunflower
I'm with him. I think you have more things installed than is healthy. There are two places to set stuff, Mac System Preferences and the Audacity Device Toolbar (which is a shortcut to Audacity Device Preferences). Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Sound > Input. That should give you the whol...

Re: High Pitch squeal....Please help
Anyway I can make it almost tolerable?? . I couldn't do it. You hit the magic problem of trying to get rid of low-level sound interference that changes over time. It's a version of #4 only yours sounds all electronic instead of coming from a newscaster or presenter. The Four Horsemen of Audio Recor...

Re: Making a song go back to a specific time
You can do it with a mouse click. Click inside the ruler bar just above the blue waves. The playback will reset to that point. There may be other ways. iTunes tends to leave all the calisthenics and heavy lifting up to the iPod or other player. Not iTunes itself. The only way I was ever able to get ...

Re: Recording Dj Podcast with microphone
Note that if the microphone in the Numark doesn't work, you may be able to jack the mixer output that would normally go to the house into the Mac. If your Mac looks like this: http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg You may be able to use one of these cables: http://kozco.com/tech/a...
