Re: low volume and hum using mic

OK... We know your hardware is good... No we don't. We just confirmed that your USB ports have a grounding, battery or other hardware connection issue. Most of the jobs your USB port does can survive a damaged or leaky ground (the outer shell of the connector) or ratty data transfer. Would you real...

Re: Recording

I'm just saying in general, it's rough to record a good Skype conversation no matter what kind of show you have. Skype likes to take over the system and if you insist on taking control back, the Skype call frequently fails. Now you get to describe the show. Are you split-screen video interviewing so...

Re: External Sound Card Problem

You may be just missing a step. It's unlikely that the soundcard driver software is going to support what you're doing, but you can jam a short jumper cable between the Line-Out and the Line-In of the device. Play to the device and Record from the device. Since the two are connected to each other, t...

Re: Recording

You may have noticed that Skype will not Play Well With Others. The only good, controlled way to record both sides of a Skype call are the Pamela products http://www.pamela.biz/en/products/ or these: http://voipcallrecording.com/ http://scribie.com/free-skype-recorder http://www.ifree-recorder.com/ ...

Re: low volume and hum using mic

Thanks. You have, as we keep insisting, unexpectedly bad performance from what should be a simple microphone system, and we're not talking AT&T Long Lines Interchange problems here. It's three pieces.

Re: low volume and hum using mic

is considering buying some new hardware.
True. I rather like the G-Track I borrowed for the overdubbing tests. It was very well behaved and, of course, it's now certified for Overdubbing.

Re: How to record sound from multiple sources

That's a heck of a question that comes up a lot. Normal computers aren't designed to do jobs like this. They typically have one record channel and one playback, Look at voicemeeter and see if that can help. That tries to build multiple sound channels and directions in software. http://vb-audio.pages...

Re: low volume and hum using mic

I think we shouldn't wander from the problem. The Microphone/preamp/computer combination doesn't work. The super high noise level that changes when you pick up the microphone and low speaking volume point to a defective microphone or preamp (cable). It's also remotely possible that it's a USB proble...
