Re: Convert voice recording into ultrasound and then play it
There are a number of ways to proceed with this and it's not clear from your posting which one of the methods you're trying to achieve. And even if you do succeed that brings us to: will standard headphones do the job?? No, they won't. If you look at the specifications for headphones, they always st...

Re: I cant get Audacity to record from a digital recorder I
You'll need to tell us what "this" is. Which digital recorder do you have, how is it connected, if it is connected? Also fill in the info from the pink band at the top of this forum.
Pretend you're trying to explain to someone how to make recordings like you're making them.

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
First level listening to the clip you supplied and I think you overdid Noise Removal. The blank spots between words are almost completely dead (which is unnatural) but more important, the voice sounds like talking into a wine glass — usually a reaction to too much noise removal. There are other thin...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
With one exception, those are actually all the same complaint. You compressed, crushed, squeezed and condensed the performance into a super dense, tight bundle until it started bleeding out... and then you submitted it. One of those volume peaks somewhere in the middle got away from you and hit over...

Re: low volume and hum using mic
You should gather all this up and start a new topic. I don't remember how to do it with the administrator tools. Trying to talk you both through in the same topic would be a nightmare and if I don't try, you're going to get buried. When you get settled, come back and delete this segment. Thanx, Koz

Re: Interference when recording
If you were to put that clip on the timeline and magnify it, you'll see it's actually missing parts. There are little blank segments in there with the notes (attach). We wrote a thing about that. In general, it means the computer can't keep up with live audio. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa...

Re: Highlight audio over a level
I increase the size of my sound meters so to better see what I'm doing. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record-650.jpg Click the meter edges and pull sideways. We recommend the -6 value so you can go over by accident in the course of live recording without causing sound damage. Sound damage...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
It's something of a standing joke that you can never hit noise and RMS in the same show. A typical, carefully produced "clean" show may have good background noise but very clear, bright and open — and low — voice. They complain about the RMS (overall volume) and you obediently crank it up ...

Re: Size Of Edited Files
MP3 doesn't make very good archive because all you can do with the work is listen to it. If you try to make lower quality MP3s for your Portable Listening Device, the quality of the sound will be the combination damage of the two MP3s. That's why even though additional storage medium needed, uncompr...
