Re: Trying to get playback through headphones

How's it? I've never known a Yeti to do this, but I don't see why not. Plug the Yeti in and then start Audacity a bit later. Look at the Audacity Device Toolbar... http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html ...and pick the Yeti as the playback (little speaker) device. It doesn't have t...

Re: Recording 3 sources at once?

VB-Audio Software comes with its own recorder. You don't need Audacity at all for that. Maybe post production. Once you mix multiple channels of sound down to one stereo or mono, you can't split them up again, so paying close attention and wearing headphones is a good idea. Games and Skype both tend...

Re: How to get the exact amplitude of a point in the wavefor

Old and new strings sounding different would be the project. "Note the overtones of the old string have shifted down slightly and the harmonics around 3,000 Hz are less leading to a mellower sound.

Re: Move one note in track w/o affecting the rest of the tra

Oh. You're overdubbing versus a click track. Good to have known that at the beginning.

So we're not solving a technical problem. We're making up for you having no rhythm.

There's no good formal way to fix that. All we got is what's posted so far.

Re: Sound

Do you have the Line-Out or the Headphone Out of the keyboard plugged into the laptop Mic-In? Stop doing that. The two connections normally are incompatible with each other. This is another version of the same problem. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/Line-Out_Mic-In.jpg Sometimes you can forc...

How are you controlling for plucking energy? If I pluck a string harder it's going to get louder no matter how old it is.

Re: clicks and dropouts playing Soundflower recordings

Macs have no native provision for Self Recording. Soundflower provides those special pathways. Macs have all other normal sound pathways pretty much licked without Soundflower.

You can get some lovely feedback and distortion by using Soundflower inappropriately.

Re: Problem exporting to AAC… Help!

I believe this is a known problem. AAC/M4A exports do not have a complete range of quality options. Someone will correct me.

Re: New user

I'm totally onboard with making the meters bigger. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record-650.jpg A quick note. The blue waves and the sound meters do not measure the same way. The meters tell you the whole range of sound in dB which is why -6 is jammed toward the right edge. You can hear a...
