Re: No Playback Through Mixer Headphones
the 2Tr in/USB does control it but it appears that I need to connect the pc to the mixer via the headphone jack to RCA cable to do it that way. Give it a shot. You'll need to tune the Audacity Recording Latency to make your live performance match up with older tracks. http://manual.audacityteam.org...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
You could have a broken or incorrect adapter cable from your illustration. Unplug Everything from the mixer except the microphone.

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
Unplug all the audio cables except the microphone. Shut down Audacity. If you can't get the lights on the mixer to flash, then the mixer is delivering a substandard show. We need to resolve that right at the top. Nothing you do in Audacity or with adapter cables is going to solve that. The two yello...

Re: Not able to record using Asus Laptop and Behringer UFO20
If you're using a disco mixer with two, for example SL1200s, you should have the UFO-202 set to Line rather than Phono. The output of the mixer should be flat, correct audio set for delivery to the sound system... or Audacity.

Re: No Playback Through Mixer Headphones
I know what the problem is. I wrote the original overdubbing tutorial and I reviewed three different hardware devices which would allow direct USB monitoring. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/samsonGTrackConnections.jpg Could that be what that 2TR IN/USB in the far lower right does? The phrase...

Re: Recording System Audio WITHOUT Soundflower
I could use the option "System Audio Recorder" under Recording Device I don't have any such thing under 10.9. I wonder if that arrived in OS-X 10.10 in an effort to resolve the common complaint that Macs have no native ability to self-record like Windows (usually) does. It's also possible...

Re: clicks and dropouts playing Soundflower recordings
I apologize for not being very scientific in my methods earlier. We're very pleased you're sticking with us through this. We can deal with non-scientific users <g>. Every time somebody reads what's happening to them we get a little closer to solving it so nobody ever has to know what a "buffer...

The last posting got results by going down to 50. Try double and half.
If it's not always broken, how will you know? That's why forcing it to break is a big deal.

Re: Complete newbie and recording an audiobook to ACX
You did do something wrong in that last test clip. Attached Bottom. You recorded the voice a little too loud. No vocal blue waves are flat top and bottom like that. It's not badly distorted, but that does represent some distortion and ACX may flag that. We recommend recording with peaks at about -6 ...

Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite
I'm recording via a lapel mic so have a line output from the receiver that I split. Perfectly valid. I was afraid you were going to try and split a dynamic microphone or something like that. So you are in the camp of trying to make it worse. "I swear, Mr Mechanic, my car was making this noise ...
