If you're playback system is working at all in Audacity, it should be possible to set "live" simultaneous playback.
Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [X] playthrough.
You probably can't use that for overdubbing. Is that where you were going with this?

Re: How to remove snare drum ring from a recording?
I want to know what you're calling snare ring. I think it's the first time I've heard that phrase. I can imagine overloading a sound channel and getting odd sounds. Drums are all about impulse sound and those are terrifically hard to record. Maybe close micing a drum and picking up sounds that norma...

Re: How to remove snare drum ring from a recording?
I'm kind of surprised that you couldn't capture the profile from one ring and use that over all the recording, but you may be running into the vocal keying part of the tool. If the "ring" is slightly different every time, you're pretty much dead. Everyone assumes there are different freque...

Re: Very Inexperienced & Working on Audio Book
Do you hear that loud frying bacon between the words? That means she took the bad, noisy sound from the mixer and boosted it. Tried it with the new cables and didn't find any difference. That's not what I said. I said to get the lights to flash with no cables except the microphone and the power cabl...

Re: HELP-Putting several songs in one file
One way is to import all of your songs. They will arrive all stacked up and play at the same time. Use the SOLO and MUTE buttons to the left of each track to turn it on and off. Use the Time Shift Tool (two black sideways arrows) to push song two so it starts at the end of song one. Repeat with song...

Re: Audacity not exporting audio
If you mess up the lame install, Audacity will still Export, just not to MP3.I still cannot click export audio.
Export itself may not be available (Grayed out) if you Pause the playback instead of Stopping it.

You can shrink the Audacity window slightly top to bottom on the computer screen. Fit Vertically. Now expand the screen again and it will allow you elbow room "white space" on the bottom.

The blue waves? Yes, it's left on top, right on the bottom. There are view options. Fit to Window, Fit Vertically. You can click on the bottom edge of a track and push up. If all you're doing is single voice management, it totally doesn't need to be in stereo. If you shoot in Stereo (some microphone...

Re: Live Audio Processing- Delay?
The delays mentioned in Audacity have to do with making an overdubbing session match. When you sing to an existing backing track, your voice matches when you play back the composite. Audacity can't do effects in real time. I had to do this once at work and I ended up using a much higher end audio pr...
